Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan J.Hodjaev held a meeting in the format of videoconference dedicated to discussion of investment activity and support of entrepreneurs.

Heads of ministries, agencies, sector associations and local authorities reported on the implementation of investment projects under the State Investment Program and regional investment programs in the context of regions and industries, identified plans for further work to support the initiators of projects, as well as problematic issues, each of which was analyzed and specific solutions were developed.

During the meeting it was also considered the current state of development of attracted funds and grants of international financial institutions and foreign governmental financial organizations. The heads of the relevant ministries and agencies were instructed to intensify monitoring of the timely implementation of projects and the targeted use of the attracted funds.

Also on the agenda were measures to prepare for the Open Dialogue between the head of state and businesspeople that is scheduled for August this year. The progress of work on the collection and processing of applications and suggestions from entrepreneurs was discussed. As of this day the Republican Headquarters has received 6,316 applications, of which 1,719 have already been followed up with practical solutions. It was noted that in addition to appeals on problematic issues, a significant part of the total applications have constructive proposals from business representatives relating to a wide range of factors forming the investment and business environment in the country. Each such proposal is carefully studied by experts and specialists of the relevant bodies and structures for further use in the improvement of the current regulatory environment or the preparation of draft governmental decisions.

At the end of the meeting the responsible executives received additional targeted instructions for the qualitative and timely implementation of the set tasks.
