On July 22 of the current year in Bukhara under the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Hodjaev in anticipation of an open dialogue of the Head of State with entrepreneurs, an open meeting of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade, Investment, Local Industry Development and Technical Regulation was held, dedicated to discussing and solving urgent problems that manufacturers and exporters face in their direct activities.

Heads of ministries, agencies, sectoral associations, commercial banks, local authorities of districts and cities of Bukhara region, as well as about 100 entrepreneurs from all districts and cities of the region took part in the meeting.

During the meeting more than 50 problematic issues were discussed, including the allocation of credit resources, compensation for a number of costs incurred by exporters, the extension of loan repayment period, the need for connection to utilities, the return of previously paid sums of value added tax and other aspects.

For example, the owner of a farm from Zhondorsky District voiced the problem of a shrinking egg export market due to earlier restrictions on the export of these products, and asked for assistance in accelerating the review of an application for a soft loan to expand production.

A businessman from the same district asked for a $500,000 credit, which would also create 50 new jobs, for a project to produce metal items used in interiors.

A number of entrepreneurs have complained about unexpected power cuts, which creates huge risks for the efficient and long-term use of expensive foreign equipment and brings additional costs and downtime.

An entrepreneur from Vobkent district asked to reconsider the cadastral affiliation of land from agricultural to non-agricultural, since in the last few years it became unsuitable for sowing due to drought.

On more than 30 questions sounded by businessmen operative measures were taken and orders were given for their realization.

On the remaining issues specific algorithms of solutions were developed and responsible leaders were tasked to implement appropriate practical measures in a timely manner.

Also the perspective ideas and proposals of entrepreneurs on further stimulation of socio-economic development of Bukhara region were considered.

As a result, the minutes of the meeting were adopted, the responsible executives were given additional instructions for the effective implementation of the tasks.
