On March 24-26, the Tashkent International Investment Forum is being held, bringing together guests, experts, representatives of ministries from 56 countries of the world.
The second day of the forum turned out to be no less memorable. Thus, during the round table “New Education and the Future 50+”, the participants discussed how the current reforms in the education system and the creation of new technologies will be reflected in the future, which should be expected in the next 10-30 years.
Roundtable speakers: Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Karimjonov, Deputy General Director of the Agency for Strategic Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alexei Sim, Rector of Inha University in Tashkent Muzaffar Dzhalalov, Managing Director of Wilmotte & Associés Borina Andriyo and Head of Markets Scandinavia, Russia, Central, and Eastern Europe in Oliver Wyman Sean Corey.
Botir Arifjanov, entrepreneur, founder of Paynet, LeBazar, Astrum Academy, and head of the Khan Academy Uzbek, was the moderator of the event.
During the event, the speakers discussed trends in the field of education, professions, and necessary skills that will be in demand in the near future, the organization of high-quality training, taking into account the potential of the country.
In the discussion, special attention was paid to the issues of predetermining the evolution of the education system, adapting the accumulated experience to improve the efficiency of the educational system, and the impact of artificial intelligence.
Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Karimjonov emphasized the importance of quality education, adding that “teachers are the main tool in the education sector.” Quality education is based on the knowledge of teachers.
Taking into account the continuous development of modern technologies and the changeability of the world, it is necessary to correspond to the times. To do this, it is already necessary to analyze today’s changes and predict future ones. So, in 2030, the development of artificial intelligence will be relevant, in 2050, the terms Smart House Design, Mobile programming will be clear to many.
The Deputy Minister also stressed the need to prepare children for the future by instilling in them independence and the desire for self-education.
“ The world is changing, we cannot accurately predict what will happen tomorrow. Over the past 2 years of the pandemic, we have seen this. We must prepare children for the future,” Rustam Karimjonov said.
The number of universities in Uzbekistan is growing rapidly, among them there are many international and private universities. The rector of Inha University in Tashkent, Muzaffar Jalalov, noted that in 2030 Uzbekistan will become an educational hub of Central Asia.
He also added that digitalization in the educational system is necessary today. The pandemic showed that not all countries were ready for a forced transition to an online format. However, distance learning is now gaining popularity. Young people have an enthusiasm to learn something new, and IT technologies help them in this.
Oliver Wyman spokesman Sean Corey suggested that in the coming years, many workers will be replaced by machines with artificial intelligence, such as drivers. Moreover, when making plans for the future, it is necessary to take into account that the Internet and everything connected with it will develop more and more. Virtual reality is becoming more real – this was repeatedly mentioned during the round table.
Returning to the issue of data collection, Alexei Sim, Deputy General Director of the Agency for Strategic Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said that it is with the help of it that one can prevent or reduce the risk of future problems. Naturally, it will be difficult to predict them, but it is possible to determine some points to correct the situation.
– Today, Uzbekistan is on the path of development in all areas of high technology. Such industries as biomechanics, nanotechnologies, hydrogen energy are actively developing. Progress requires highly qualified specialists. If we continue in this direction, we can be among the leaders in these industries in 5-10 years, – said Alexey Kim.
